Commissioned on the 18th of August 1999 Hotel Brunton Boatyard is a great tribute to the city of Cochin. Designed and built in the style and principle of the early Dutch and Portuguese architecture of Fort Cochin blends very well into the Cochin sky line. It’s hard to believe that the Brunton Boatyard Hotel is a new building since it resembles the old colonial buildings of Cochin. The simple lime washed walls, sloping tile roof and terra-cotta floors wit the Giant “Rain Tree” completing the picture.
Brunton Boatyard, is a luxury hotel converted from an original boat building yard. The style of the property is early European that existed in Cochin a century ago which commands views over the harbour and surrounding islands. The rooms are very well appointed with antique four-poster beds, some with tiny footstools to help you up and ensuite bathrooms. The corner suites have a separate living dining space and all rooms offer a magnificent view of the harbour mouth. The hotel also offers a number of restaurants, one in particular to note is the seafood terrace where you can dine on fresh lobster under the stars, while watching boats pass by.
